“We were heading to Denali for the first time, and being the geeks we are, we’re always keen to get knee-deep in experiential learning. Northern Epics delivered so much more than your typical hike (we did the 4 hour off-trail expedition). We were able to see, touch, smell, taste the wonders and beauty of Denali. On top of that, we had so much fun and laughter with Trinidad (our guide) and Ian (our photographer) while learning fascinating facts that we were still discussing over dinner. We could tell that the team had their own thirst for knowledge and would seek out and find pleasure in becoming subject matter experts on everything to do with this beautiful slice of earth.
We had also booked the option of being joined by a photographer as a gift to our accompanying friends, and it was the perfect way to capture some very special moments on a milestone day.
I also wanted to highlight the fantastic service the team brings and their commitment to ensuring that your Denali trip is as memorable as can be. Literally 30 mins after I booked our hike, I received a call from Trinidad asking whether he can offer any other support with recommendations for restaurants or other activities. It was very much like chatting with an old friend, and I was very reassured from that call that we would be in for a treat - I was right!”

“We will remember this experience for the rest of our lives.
1) The Logistics - The logistics/communication from Northern Epics was ON POINT. They called to confirm a few days before, texted the day before to reconfirm and showed up exactly on time. Before the trip, the company's owner, Trinidad answered all of my questions and even recommended other activities and restaurants to check out.
2) The Hike - the perfect level of strenuous. Didn't kill us, but definitely was challenging enough that at the end of the experience, we felt like we achieved something. The views were absolutely incredible, and we had plenty of space to stop and take photos.
3) The Guide - In a word, Derrick was AMAZING. Not only was he knowledgeable, but he was super personable and really interesting to talk to. He provided us with the perfect amount of information on plants, geology, Denali and Alaska - he didn't drone on and on, instead found the perfect balance between fun and informative. He even helped us identify edible plants and berries to snack on along the way (make sure you still bring a granola bar or two).
In short, we cannot recommend this excursion strongly enough!”

First class service. We were in Denali as part of a cruise but didn’t want to follow the masses with the cruise company so we found Northern Epics. I booked the wrong date, totally my fault, but Trinidad at Northern Epics didn’t only email me back to fix it, he called us and left a message and TXT me. They accommodated our date change and while talking on the phone matched us up with a hike we would enjoy.
The day of the hike we got matched up with Derek as our guide. They were running a few minutes late for our pickup at the hotel and they texted us to keep us informed. (First class service). On the hike Derek gave us a unique experience. Off the trail, just making your way in nature. Derek educated us on the Alaskan environment and set the hiking pace that fit the group. You can’t go wrong with Northern Epics!
